Bate Jr. Grandma Meyerhofer was a true saint. I grow up in her home with her son, larry. I was always welcomed in her home and remember how much she loved her family. I have fawn memories of grandma Meyerhofer and the Meyerhofer family. Grandma Meyerhofer your love and words of wisdom touched everyone who knew you. God bless you in your journey to heaven. Love and a big thank you, Paul R. Bate Jr. Tribute from: Roy and Mary Liller Mom Meyerhofer is what we called her, because she was like a Mom to us all. She was one-of-a-kind lady!! We had the honor of Pastoring her as well as a friendship that was as close as blood kin. We were truly brothers and sisters in the Lord. We will miss her smiling face, but know that the Lord has something much better in store for her over in the Glory Land. With faith and hope we look forward to seeing her again one day. Tribute from: Robin Cadreact I met 'mom' Meyerhofer when I was a young girl. She and my mother were friends. I remember getting my hair cut by Jo-Jo and swimming in their new pool. Later, I became part of her family through marriage. She accepted both me and my son as her own. I was always impressed by her Love and honor for God and her love for her family, through thick and thin. Both she and dad made me feel like a daughter and I always did. I watched her go through cancer and heart surgery and many other trials and she always stayed strong and was such an example to her entire family. She was the glue that held it together. She used to call me and ask how old Amanda was so she'd know when she had her cancer surgery because she was in the hospital when I had Amanda. Even when life changed for me,and she could have very well let go of our relationship, she remained my friend and loved me as I did her. Later in life she became even closer to God and developed a personal relationship with Christ. I can still see the tears glistening in her eyes when she told me. She taught me how to make spaghetti sauce the 'right' way and how to make chicken paprikash which my kids are extrememly thankful for. I love you mom and feel privledged to have called you mom and friend. I know you are at peace now and with our Lord. Praise Him ! Tribute from: Josephine Owens My Mom was a remarkable lady. Always giving of herself and not looking for anything in return. I remember growing up, how she played hide and seek with us, jumped rope, which by the way, she was better than any one of her children. How my Dad and Mom would sit outside with us and watch the stars, and Dad would play his harmonica. How many nights Mom would not eat much, because she wanted to make sure we all ate. How she cared about us and everyone of our friends as well. No one was ever turned away from our door. Everyone was accepted part of our family. I could go on forever talking about the wonderful lady she was, but I am sure all that knew her would agree that she was one of the greatest. We called her the energizer Bunny, because of how she would always keep on going. The last few years of her life was very special to me, because we shared something very special, the Love of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. When Mom started her journey in her walk with the LORD I watched her grow Spiritually. It was beautiful. Then she was baptized in the name of JESUS, and received the HOLY SPIRIT. I still remember that night at camp. She almost had a glow about her. It was the most beautiful time I have ever spent with my Mom. I know I will always miss her, but I know she is in a much better place, with her SAVIOR who has already wiped the tears from her eyes. Her suffering is over, and eternity began with Her LORD, JESUS. I will always miss you Mom, but sometime we will walk the streets of Glory together with Jesus. Tribute from: Kathy Gallaway My Dearest GRAM, You are one special lady that will be missed tremendously. But in my heart I know you are where you were meant to be free at last! You have taught us all so much through your words and your actions. We have all been so blessed to have you for all these years and pray that GODS love will continue to show in us as it has in you these past years. Thank you for being my gram, my mom, my friend...... Love you always, Kathy Tribute from: Anne Meyerhofer Grandma, you know that you were loved and I know that I will miss you so very much. When I was growing up I don't want to say that we weren't close, but I always new that I was loved by you and Grandpop. But as I got older and got closer to you. I learned so much from you!! I only wish that I had watched a little closer a lot sooner in life!! Thank you for everything that you have done! I can only hope that I will be as good of a mother to my children as you were to yours. You ruled with such strenght, and you loved so tenderly. I will hold your memorie so close to my heart! I will look to all my Aunts and my Uncle, for there advice with things in life when I need it, becasue I know that it came from you once upon a time. I love and miss you! But I know that we will be together again some day! All my love, Anne Tribute from: Krystle Gallaway To My Dearest Great-Gram, It is still hard for me to comprehend that you are no longer with us. You have bounced back from so many things in the past, I just always assumed you would be here forever. But, I am comforted by the fact that I know you are now with your Creater and that you are more at peace than any of us can ever know until we come to join you and our Savior. As a woman who had a hand in raising every child in her family in some way or another, I am honored to have had the opportunity to call you my grandmother. As you were for everyone in our family, you were always there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen and was always careful not to say something that would hurt me as you may have done to others. You always had something wise to say whether it was rhymes about spelling Japan or your famous "When the fruit is ready, it will drop" line and never let me forget it! I will always remember watching "In the Heat of the Night" and Pop's old westerns while you watched us on Thursday nights and making potato pancakes in your tiny kitchen but most importantly I will remember how much you loved us all, especially Jeremy (or Jeryme or Jeramiah as you most often called him). Watching your face when I brought home the untrasound telling me I was having a boy and hearing you yell with excitement "I don't see it! What is it! Is it a boy?!" Coming to the hospital where you got to hold your great-great-grandson for the first time and every time after when you and he would play drums or have a tea party... I am so happy that you had the chance to meet him in person and can only hope to make you proud as you watch him grow from Heaven. I love you, Gram and am comforted to know that you love me, too as I have heard it from you my whole life. Thank you for everything you have done and never losing faith in God or your family. You truly are an inspiration as to how PRAYER WORKS. I only hope I can continue to rely on GOD as you have for the past few years. I am proud of the woman you became and I will try my hardest to learn and live by your discipline and love for your family. Thanks you, Gram for knowing and praying for me when I needed it most and for never giving up on me. That is what family is. I love you, Gram, and will miss you forever but know that you are with me, on my shoulder as I take life one day at a time. All my love forever and forever, Your Great-Granddaughter Krystle (And her little guy Jeremy) PS, I'll bring the cranberry juice and portabello mushroom sandwhich when I come up to Heaven. Love you! Tribute from: You're Great Grand-daughter, Nicole. I am very fortunate to have known and loved you and pop closely. In the 18 years I've been alive, you've always been there. Most children aren't lucky to know even their grandparents, and I count my blessings everyday that I had a close relatioship with my GREAT grandparent. We always knew that you were there for all of us. I will never forget our afternoon PB&J sandwhiches, or watching the news and belting out "In The Heat of The Night" with the TV singing right back at us! I am proud to say that you are my grandmother, and friend. I always knew that I could go to you with any problem going on in my life, no problem was too small or too big, and you always had answers and always had outstretched comforting arms. I know that you are in better hands now, and I will see you again some day where you'll be in no more pain. I will never forget anything that you've taught me, a part of you will always be with me. I love you, and always will, your great grand-daughter, Nicole.
