Johanna Knoll
President
Johanna was born in Morristown, New Jersey and raised in Madison as the second oldest of ten children. She and her husband, James Knoll, Sr., raised their eight children in Chatham, where family and faith played central roles in daily life. Johanna is now the proud grandmother of twenty-two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Bayley Ellard High School in Madison, Johanna has worked in the funeral service profession for more than 40 years. Her extensive experience and steady leadership guide the day-to-day operations of both Martin Funeral Home and Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
In 2016, Johanna moved to Clinton, New Jersey, where she has enjoyed becoming part of the local community. She is a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hampton, New Jersey.
When she is not at the funeral homes, Johanna cherishes time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loves supporting the many wonderful restaurants and shops throughout the area.
Christopher Knoll
Manager/Director of Funeral and Cremation Services NJ License No. 4460
Christopher Knoll is our manager and licensed funeral director (NJ License #4460). Born and raised in Chatham, New Jersey, Chris is the youngest of eight children. He married his wife, Emily, in 2001, and together they are the proud parents of four children—Caitlyn and Quinn, graduates of North Hunterdon High School, and twins Jack and Taylor, who attend CTMS and are active in Junior Lions.
Chris graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute in New York City with a degree in Mortuary Science in 2000 and has been a licensed funeral director for more than 25 years. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of guiding families during some of their most difficult and meaningful moments, a responsibility he approaches with compassion, dignity, and care.
In 2014, Chris and his family moved to Clinton Township, where they have genuinely enjoyed putting down roots and becoming part of the community. His family’s commitment to serving others deepened further with the opening of their second location, Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Washington, New Jersey.
Chris remains actively involved in both community and professional organizations, including the Knights of Columbus at Immaculate Conception Church, the Hunterdon County Chapter of The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, the Clinton Sunrise Rotary, and the Clinton Guild.
When he is not serving families, Chris loves to spend every moment he can with his wife and kids, be it at dining at the many wonderful restaurants throughout the community, sports games, fishing, community events, and when possible, the beach.

Patrick Gardner Sr.
Funeral Director NJ License No. 5390
Patrick Gardner Sr., NJ Licensed Funeral Director (License No. 5390), was born and raised in Asbury, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Warren Hills Regional High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University–New Brunswick in 2016. Patrick later completed his Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Funeral Service at Mercer County Community College, graduating with high honors in 2022.
Patrick is dedicated to serving families with compassion, care, and professionalism during life’s most difficult moments. He is married to his wife, Chelsea, and together they are raising two children. Family is at the center of Patrick’s life, and they enjoy spending as much time together as possible.
Patrick is an active member of the Washington Rotary Club, the Warren Hills Regional High School Wall of Fame Committee, and the Tri-County Funeral Director Association. Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan—especially of the Philadelphia Eagles—and enjoys golfing, traveling, and exploring breweries across the United States.

Frank Moore " Uncle Frank"
Funeral home Attendant
Frank was born and raised in Madison, New Jersey and currently resides in Forks Township, Pennsylvania. One of ten children and the brother of our President, Johanna Knoll, Frank comes from a close-knit family and is now the proud grandfather of three.
An avid Mets fan, Frank also enjoys golfing with his brothers whenever he gets the chance. At the funeral home, he has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for—treating each family as if they were his own.

Ken Moore
Funeral home Attendant
Ken Moore is a cousin to Johanna and Frank and resides in Alpha, New Jersey. He is the proud grandfather of four and a devoted sports fan, especially when it comes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ken enjoys golfing, spending time with family, and is well known for his great personality and quick wit.
Those who visit the funeral home are always greeted by Ken with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor, helping families feel welcomed and at ease.
